Due to safety concerns during the COVID-19 crisis, the Fire Marshal’s Office High-rise and Fire Life Safety Team is requiring that no more than two people walk with the Fire Inspector during a fire inspection. Preferable only one person should walk with the inspector. All State and CDC guidelines should be followed during the inspection. In addition, the following shall be followed:
- Only one person shall ride in an elevator with the Fire Inspector.
- Face coverings shall be worn for the duration of the inspection.
- Fire safety plan consultations shall be done over the phone.
- A pre-inspection meeting shall be done over the phone.
If the person meeting the inspector is not feeling well or has any symptom’s or known contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 please re-schedule the inspection.
The inspection process may be modified by the Fire Inspector to help mitigate the risk for all parties.
